A Proud Achievement for GEC: Four Award Nominations for Diageo Ireland

We're delighted to share that our Diageo Ireland site has been shortlisted for four categories at this year’s Gold Medal Catering Awards 2026.
Built on the distinguished 37-year legacy of the Gold Medal Hotel Awards, the Gold Medal Catering Awards has quickly established itself as Ireland’s leading platform for recognising excellence across the catering sector. Now in its second year, the awards continue to celebrate outstanding achievement, shining a spotlight on the organisations and individuals setting the benchmark for quality, innovation, and service.
Following a highly successful inaugural year in 2025, the awards have gone from strength to strength. This year attracted more than 150 submissions from across the industry, representing business and workplace dining, healthcare hospitality, event catering, and more. Together, this year’s finalists showcase the exceptional talent, creativity, and dedication that define Ireland’s vibrant catering sector.
To be recognised across four categories is an achievement we're genuinely proud of, and it speaks to the passion and the attention to detail GEC's Diageo Ireland team brings to the table every single day. This year’s nominations include the following categories :
- B&I Caterer of the Year (250+ employees)
- Sustainability Site of the Year
- Menu Provenance of the Year
- Health & Nutrition Menu of the Year
These nominations are a reflection of our passion and our approach to responsible sourcing, putting wellbeing at the centre, and holding ourselves to the same high standards across sustainability, nutrition, and flavour.
