Negroni Masterclass & Workplace Events

Workplace events offer an opportunity to bring people together through food and drink. At GEC, these experiences are a favourite part of what our teams do and a way for us to bring hospitality into the workplace.

GEC’s in-house mixologist, Goncalo, led our GEC and Fooditude teams in a Negroni masterclass. The Negroni Week programme brought food, drink, hospitality and expertise to create experiences that are tailored to the people and spaces we serve.

Food and drink with attention to detail

The session began with the story behind the Negroni, exploring its Florentine origins before moving behind the bar.

The team got the chance to get hands-on while learning how to make the classic Negroni before putting their own twist on the occasion with a Negroni Sbagliato.

Moments like these are what make food and drink such an important part of workplace culture. A reason to step away from their desks and come together to discover something new.

Pairing drinks with great food

For our Negroni Masterclass, we served salumi, Nocellara olives, olive oil crisps and freshly baked focaccia alongside the drinks. The food was chosen to suit the relaxed feel of the evening and complement the drinks.

It is that same approach which shapes the menus for workplace events. Whether it is an informal team gathering or a larger occasion, we consider the format, the setting and the people attending. Our chefs draw on flavours and influences from around the world, adding their own take to familiar dishes and creating food that gives people something to look forward to.

Workplace catering shaped around each client

GEC’s hospitality teams bring their knowledge and experience to the workplaces we serve. Our in-house mixologists are one example, with their skills lending themselves to masterclasses and other events.

Our events managers and site leads also play an important part in the planning of workplace experiences. We work with clients to understand the experience they want to create and how it can work within their space.

The Negroni masterclass brought together colleagues from across GEC and Fooditude, including events managers and site leads. It was a chance for the teams to learn something new while enjoying time together and gathering ideas they could share with clients.

Bringing people together through food

The Negroni masterclass is one example of how food and drink can create opportunities for people to spend time together. A shared experience can give teams something to enjoy, while specialist hosts can introduce them to a new skill.

These workplace experiences sit alongside our onsite food service experiences. At GEC our teams work closely with clients to create food and hospitality that complements their workplace, whether it’s everyday dining or something special for their people.
