From English wine to Mexican BBQs - bringing a little sunshine to the workplace

Celebrating the best of British summer

Over the last few weeks, our teams at The Good Eating Company have been bringing teams together to celebrate the season and create some amazing food experiences at work.

From English wine and Kentish strawberries to a 400-person Mexican-inspired BBQ, we’ve been making the most of the sunshine with seasonal food, creative drinks and some brilliant partners along the way. Here’s a glimpse of our summer line-up

Celebrating the best of British summer

Seasonality is at the heart of what we do, and summer offers plenty to work with. For instance, we celebrated English Wine Week, by serving Harrow & Hope, an organic English wine grown on chalk and flint just 30 miles from London. It was a beautiful way to bring a taste of the local countryside into the workplace.

The gathering also showcased the quality of producers closer to home.

Wimbledon was another opportunity to celebrate summer and what better way than Kentish strawberries and cream served alongside strawberry tea and pink lemonade. These details might seem small, but they can make a big difference to the workplace experience.

Making workplace events feel like an occasion

Summer is also the perfect excuse to take workplace dining beyond the usual lunch service. Our teams took advantage and for one recent event, catered for 400 people with a Mexican-inspired BBQ. The menu included cactus tacos, chicken asado burgers, soft serve with hot agave syrup and a Mexican salsa station, led by our partners at Masafina.

It was a great example of our team's approach to workplace events, bringing together menus with exciting food concepts and seamless service to create a memorable experience.

Whether it’s a large-scale BBQ, a seasonal celebration, a client event or an informal gathering for colleagues, our teams are passionate about creating experiences around the occasion rather than simply providing the food.

Great food is only part of the experience

For us, hospitality is about more than what’s on the plate. It’s the service, the atmosphere, the presentation and the little touches that turn a meal into an experience. That could mean a beautifully presented seasonal drink, a live food station or a dessert that people are still talking about afterwards.

Our summer programme included churros filled with dulce de leche, Nutella and lemon curd, created by our friends at Broadway Churro Club.

Working with specialist food partners allows us to introduce new ideas and give our clients access to products, makers and experiences that might not otherwise be part of the everyday workplace menu.

Keeping wellness on the menu

Alongside the more indulgent treats, our teams have been experimenting with functional health, sampling our latest gut health juices and exploring new iced coffee ideas. Most often, workplace dining calls for more choice among its teams. Some days call for strawberries and cream or churros with dulce de leche. Others call for something fresh and energising. A great workplace food offer is about being able to make room for both.

Creating moments people want to share

What connects all these experiences is the simple idea that food can bring people together. A glass of English wine enjoyed in the sunshine. Strawberries and pink lemonade during Wimbledon. A Mexican BBQ shared with hundreds of colleagues. A new drink discovery or an unexpected dessert.

These are the moments that make the workplace feel more sociable, welcoming and enjoyable.

At The Good Eating Company, we create workplace food and hospitality experiences that are designed around people, places and occasions.

From everyday workplace dining to large-scale events, seasonal activations and innovative food and drink concepts, our teams bring creativity, quality and exceptional service to every experience. And with plenty more sunshine still to come, we’re only just getting started.
