We’re thrilled to launch ‘Behind GEC’, our new social-first series that takes you behind the scenes to explore the people, the passion, and the innovation behind The Good Eating Company.

 

In the first episode, we introduce Maxwell McKenzie, our Culinary Director, who shares why sourcing the very best ingredients is at the heart of everything we do. Maxwell explains, “Sourcing at GEC, aside from the people, is probably the most important thing that we do. No good dish started with bad ingredients, quite simply.”

From county suppliers to the vibrant stalls of New Covent Garden Market, GEC carefully selects local produce that not only tastes incredible but looks beautiful and genuinely nourishes our guests. Maxwell highlights the importance of connection adding, “We want people to feel a sense of connection to the ingredients. They need to understand that the ingredients have been sourced really, really carefully.”

Every dish is crafted to showcase the ingredient itself. “If we’re offering you a tomato dish, we want you to taste tomatoes. If we’re showcasing asparagus, we want the asparagus to be the star of the show.” Deliciousness is key, but so is responsibility and ensuring that our food is both nutritious and sustainable.
